A private obituary

I liked Bowie

He was one of the greats.

And I don’t say such things often

The creativity, originality and sheer beauty of his work is not matched by many

You always hope such people will die of simple old age in their late 80s or early 90s because, well, they deserve sonething like that.

That’s what makes me angry. Not so much that we die, but that we cannot at least be afforded a gentle death.

It reminds me of something I read, a decade ago

“What good are people anyway? All they do is die”

To be perfectly honest I didn’t want to spend these few days after his death, savouring his music, alone.

But it’s not what we want. It never is.
